| Obverse description | Youthful head of Apulu (Apollo) facing left, wreathed or bound with a fillet (head-band), rendered in archaic Etruscan style with finely engraved hair locks. The denomination mark 'V II' (signifying 2-1/2 asses) appears in the field to the rear of the head. The portrait is set within a plain border, characteristic of Populonian coinage of the late series. |
