Obverse description Laureate head of Apulu (Apollo) facing right, rendered in fine archaic Etruscan style with delicate features and hair bound by a laurel wreath. The numeral X, denoting the value of 10 Asses, appears in the left field behind the head. The portrait is naturalistic in treatment, exhibiting a high degree of artistic accomplishment characteristic of Populonian silver coinage of this series.
