Obverse description Octopus rendered in archaic Etruscan style, depicted frontally at center with a rounded mantle occupying the upper field and five tentacles radiating downward and to the sides. The tentacles are rendered with stylized, sinuous curves characteristic of early Italian coinage. A dotted border encircles the design, framing the cephalopod motif within the irregular flan.
