| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Emperor Maximus facing right, rendered in late Roman style with finely delineated drapery folds at the shoulder. The effigy displays characteristic late antique portraiture with a pearl diadem secured above the brow. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N MAXIM – VS P F AVG, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The flan is irregular, typical of siliquae struck during the brief and turbulent reign of this usurper. |
