Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Emperor Maximus facing right, rendered in late Roman style with finely delineated drapery folds at the shoulder. The effigy displays characteristic late antique portraiture with a pearl diadem secured above the brow. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N MAXIM – VS P F AVG, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The flan is irregular, typical of siliquae struck during the brief and turbulent reign of this usurper.
