Obverse description Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Julian II facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style with fine detail to the hair and diadem beads. The emperor's effigy displays a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and scale armor visible beneath the drapery. The surrounding Latin legend reads DN CL IVLI ANVS AVG, identifying the emperor as Dominus Noster Claudius Julianus Augustus. The coin bears an irregular flan edge characteristic of hand-hammered late Roman silver coinage.
