Reverse description An astragalos (knucklebone) centrally placed within a beaded circular ring, a device characteristic of Cypriot coinage of the Classical period and associated with the kingdom of Paphos. Cypriot syllabic inscriptions appear both above and below the central device, reading 'pa-si / ku-ti,' rendered in the indigenous Cypriot syllabary. The overall composition is typical of the hammered coinage of the Paphian dynasts, with the legend identifying the issuing king as ruler of Cyprus. The incuse reverse field and beaded border are consistent with Cypriot numismatic conventions of the fifth century BC.
