| Obverse description | Eagle standing to left with wings closed, rendered in the Archaic style with finely engraved feather detail depicted through rows of pellets and incised lines across the body and folded wings. The bird is shown in profile, perched on a low rectangular base or plinth, with a strongly hooked beak turned back toward the body. The plumage is rendered with exceptional attention to texture, characteristic of the early Classical die-cutting tradition of the Troad region. |
