| Obverse description | Heracles striding to the right in a vigorous martial pose, clad in the Nemean lion's skin draped over his shoulders and head. In his raised right hand he bears a club, while his left hand grasps a bow. The figure is rendered in the archaic Cypriot style, with bold musculature and a pronounced profile characteristic of the late sixth and early fifth centuries BC. |
