Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, with a short beard and closely cropped hair. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower field, bearing the engraver's initials. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait close to the milled border, reading GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail, consistent with the MacKennal obverse type introduced for the second coinage series.
