| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing a multi-line Persian legend in flowing Nasta'liq script, arranged in three horizontal registers across the field. The inscription reads a verse invoking the Imam and the Lord of the Age (Sahib al-Zaman), a Shia religious formula characteristic of Zand-period coinage. The lettering is bold and deeply struck, with individual characters exhibiting the cursive elegance typical of 18th-century Iranian die-cutting. The flan is slightly irregular in outline, consistent with hand-hammered production, and the field shows characteristic die-flow marks around the margins. |
