Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Persian inscription in flowing Nasta'liq script, divided by a horizontal line and framed within a beaded or rope-edged border. The legend reads: 'Ghasht Rayej be Hokm-e Lam Yazali / Sekke-ye Saltanat be Nam-e Ali / Zarb Mashhad', proclaiming the coin's authority in the name of Ali and recording the Mashhad mint. The hammered flan is irregular, with typical surface texture characteristic of mid-18th century Afsharid silver coinage.
