| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Vespasian facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in the naturalistic portraiture style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's mature features — prominent brow, strong jaw, and close-cropped hair — are depicted with characteristic Roman realism. The circumferential Latin legend reads IMP CAES AVG VESPAS COS II TR POT, distributed around the bust from lower left to lower right. The field is plain and the flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hammered production at the Rome Mint in AD 70. |
