| Reverse description | The goddess Salus, draped and seated to the left upon a high-backed throne, extends her right hand forward to present a patera, the libation dish symbolic of ritual offering and divine favour. In her left hand she holds a tall vertical sceptre. The composition conveys the Flavian dynastic theme of public health and imperial stability. The reverse legend appears in the field and exergue, with the large S C flanking the central figure as the senatorial authority mark. |
