Reverse description The reverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Latin inscription set within a prominent, finely detailed oak wreath (corona civica), tied at the base with a ribbon. The wreath, composed of deeply rendered oak leaves and acorns, fills the full diameter of the flan and is enclosed within a beaded border. The honorific legend, presented without any figurative type, reflects the senatorial acclamation of Vespasian as restorer of public liberty following the civil wars of AD 69. The stark, text-only composition lends the reverse a formal, monumental character.
