Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered with characteristic realism and fidelity to portraiture typical of Flavian die-cutters, showing the emperor's mature, strong-featured visage with closely cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath. The bust is truncated at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan, recording the emperor's full titulature including his consular and censorial offices.
