Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in bold high relief with characteristic Flavian portraiture. The emperor's effigy displays a strong, aged physiognomy with cropped hair beneath a laurel wreath. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan, separated from the portrait by a plain inner border. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower edge of the field.
