Obverse description The deified Vespasian, shown in profile seated right upon a ceremonial car (carpentum) drawn by four elephants with riders, holding a sceptre in his right hand. The scene commemorates the posthumous consecratio of Vespasian, rendered in the formalised relief style typical of Flavian imperial coinage. The obverse legend, distributed around the design field, identifies the subject as DIVO AVG VESPAS and invokes the authority of the Senate and Roman People (S P Q R). The composition reflects the honorific tradition of the elephant quadriga as a symbol of imperial apotheosis.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description The reverse presents the large senatorial mark of value S C (Senatus Consulto), boldly rendered in the centre of the field, indicating that this issue was struck by authority of the Roman Senate. The circular legend surrounding the S C carries the full titulature of Titus. The design is characteristic of Flavian-period bronze coinage, where the S C monogram dominates the reverse field in a plain, authoritative composition with minimal decorative elements.
