Obverse description Draped bust of Diva Marciana facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed with a stephane and gathered in a decorative bun at the nape, rendered in fine relief characteristic of Trajanic workshop engraving. The portrait is idealized yet individualised, with a graceful neck and softly modeled facial features. The encircling legend reads DIVA AVGVSTA MARCIANA, distributed around the bust from lower left to upper right. The overall style reflects the high artistic standards of the Rome mint under Trajan, following Marciana's posthumous deification.
