Reverse description The reverse presents an elaborate allegorical composition: Trajan, bare-headed and clad in a toga, stands left upon an elevated base set on a decorated dais adorned with festoons and four eagles at the corners. The emperor holds a branch in his extended right hand and grasps a vertical sceptre in his left. A winged Victory flies left above him, lowering a wreath to crown the emperor's head. The composition is flanked on each side by a standing eagle and a bound captive, referencing Trajan's Dacian victories, with the senatorial authority legend and S C mark filling the field.
