Reverse description Mars, god of war, depicted advancing to the right in dynamic stride, clad in military cuirass and helmet with flowing crest, holding a spear diagonally across the body in his right hand and a trophy or additional military trophy over his left shoulder. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consulto) is placed in the field to either side of the figure, divided left and right within a dotted border. The composition is bold and uncluttered, with Mars rendered in the vigorous Flavian style suited to large bronze coinage.
