(Translation: Titus Caesar Imperator Augusti Filius, Pontifex [Maximus], Tribunicia Potestate, Consul Sextum, Censor. Titus, Caesar, supreme commander (Imperator), son of the emperor (Augustus), [high] priest, holder of tribunician power, consul for the sixth time, censor.)
Reverse description The reverse presents the celebrated Judaea Capta composition commemorating the Roman conquest of Judaea in AD 70. At centre, a tall date palm tree serves as the compositional axis; to the left stands a Roman soldier in military dress, facing right and resting on a spear or standard, while to the right a female figure personifying Judaea sits in an attitude of mourning, her head bowed and supported by her hand, draped in robes. The legend IVDAEA CAPTA is disposed in the field to either side of the palm, and the senatorial authority mark S C appears in the exergue below the ground line. A dotted border encircles the entire design.
