Reverse description The reverse presents the celebrated Judaea Capta type commemorating the Roman conquest of Judaea. A tall date palm tree dominates the central field, its fronds spreading across the upper register. To the left, a seated captive female figure — personifying Judaea — mourns in a posture of dejection, her head bowed and hands bound. To the right stands a Roman soldier or trophy figure in military attire. The legend IVD CAP flanks the palm tree in the upper field, while the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently displayed in the lower field to either side of the central scene.
