Obverse description Bare laureate head of Tiberius facing left, rendered in a restrained, classicizing style consistent with Julio-Claudian portraiture. The facial features are sharply defined, with a strong jaw and prominent brow beneath the laurel wreath. The surrounding legend is arranged in a circular arc around the portrait field. The die work is characteristic of the Lugdunum mint, exhibiting bold, high-relief engraving typical of the early Augustan-Tiberian transitional period.
