| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of the emperor Tiberius facing left, rendered in relatively high relief with characteristic angular facial features. The legend encircles the effigy along the periphery of the flan. The portraiture reflects the provincial workshop style of Tarraco, somewhat cruder than contemporary Roman metropolitan coinage but clearly identifiable as an imperial effigy. |
