| Reverse description | A frontal depiction of a municipal altar, rendered in schematic architectural style, with a decorated frieze along the top edge and moulded base below. A large patera or shield motif occupies the central face of the altar. Above the altar, flanking a central vegetal or palm motif, appear the letters C and V, standing for Colonia Victrix. To the lower left and right of the altar stand the letters T and T, representing the duoviri quinquennales or municipal magistrates of Tarraco. The composition is symmetrically arranged within the coin field, reflecting the civic and religious significance of the altar cult at Tarraco. |
