| Reverse description | The personification of Pudicitia, veiled and fully draped, seated left on a high-backed throne or chair; her right hand is raised toward her face in the gesture of drawing or arranging her veil, a canonical attribute of this allegory of chastity and modesty. The legend PVDICITIA arcs around the upper field, and the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears in the lower exergual area. The reverse composition is executed in a calm, restrained classicizing style typical of Hadrianic bronze coinage struck at the Rome mint. |
