Reverse description The reverse depicts the Arch of Nero (Arcus Neronis), a triumphal arch shown in three-quarter perspective with a central arched passageway flanked by two smaller bays. A standing figure, identified as Mars or a military deity, occupies the left niche, while the upper register of the arch is surmounted by a quadriga or decorative attic element. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the field to the left and right of the arch, flanking the monument symmetrically. The architectural rendering is detailed, with pilasters, entablature, and archway clearly delineated. This reverse type commemorates Neronian building projects and imperial military prestige.
