| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of the young Nero (as Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus) facing right, draped at the shoulder with a paludamentum fastened at the neck, the hair rendered in short, neatly arranged locks across the forehead in the Julio-Claudian style. The portrait is youthful and idealized, consistent with the prince's depiction before his accession. The circular legend runs around the entire periphery of the flan. |
