To the right of the composition stand two female allegorical figures: Minerva, helmeted and turning her head left, holding an owl and a spear; and Liberalitas, holding a tessera (counting-board). The scene is framed by the abbreviated legend in the exergue and field, emphasizing the munificence of the first public largess distributed by Nero to the Roman populace. |
