| Obverse description | Bare head of Lucius Aelius Caesar facing left, rendered with fine portrait detail typical of Hadrianic-era die engraving. The effigy displays close-cropped curly hair and a slightly idealized physiognomy consistent with imperial portraiture of the period. The surrounding Latin legend is disposed around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits a characteristic dark brown and green patina over an orichalcum flan of irregular shape, as is typical of hammered sestertii of this era. |
