| Reverse description | The personification of Pannonia stands facing, with head turned to the left, rendered as a draped female figure in the field. In her raised right hand she holds a military standard (vexillum), while her left hand gathers a fold of her robe. The inscription TR POT COS II arcs across the upper field, with PANNONIA inscribed in the middle field, and the senatorial authorization S C (Senatus Consultum) placed prominently in the lower field, flanking the figure on either side. The composition celebrates the Danubian province of Pannonia, likely referencing Aelius's governorship there, in a style consistent with Hadrianic provincial allegory types. |
