| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with the emperor's characteristic full beard and curly hair rendered in fine detail. The portrait is presented in high relief, depicting the bust truncated at the shoulder with drapery visible on the left shoulder. The circumferential Latin legend runs clockwise around the bust within a beaded border. The effigy reflects the mature, idealised portraiture style typical of Hadrianic coinage from the final years of his reign. |
