| Reverse description | The personification of Salus, goddess of health and well-being, seated left on a high-backed throne or chair, extending her right arm forward to offer libation from a patera over a lighted altar positioned to her left. She is rendered in classical drapery with her feet resting on a footstool, the composition conveying serene authority. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears prominently in the lower field on either side of the exergual line, authorizing the bronze coinage. The reverse legend encircles the design in the outer field, with the imagery executed in the refined relief style characteristic of the Rome mint under Hadrian. |
