| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in the restrained classical style characteristic of his later coinage. The emperor's portrait displays his distinctive short beard and close-cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath, consistent with official imagery from the final years of his reign. The circular Latin legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan, which exhibits the irregular, somewhat flan-spread form typical of hammered orichalcum sestertii. Surface wear and patination are consistent with extended circulation. |

| Reverse description | The goddess Salus, personification of health and well-being, stands facing left in full figure, draped in a long stola, leaning with her left arm against a tall column. With her right hand she extends a patera downward, feeding a large serpent that coils upward around the base of the column — the serpent being the ancient symbol of health and regeneration associated with Asclepius. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the field to either side of the central figure, flanking the goddess. The reverse legend appears along the upper periphery, partially obscured by a flan crack visible at the top of the coin. |
