| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with fine portraiture detail including a short beard and curled hair characteristic of the Hadrianic style. The effigy is depicted with a draped paludamentum visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend runs from the lower left around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the high-relief modeling typical of Rome Mint sestertii of this period. |
