(Translation: Hadrianus Augustus, Consul Tertium, Pater Patriae. Hadrian, emperor (Augustus), consul for the third time, father of the nation.)
Reverse description Hadrian standing left in military attire, extending his right hand to raise a kneeling personification of Phrygia, who wears the characteristic Phrygian cap and holds a pedum (shepherd's crook). In his left hand, Hadrian holds a scroll, symbolising the imperial decree of restoration. The scene alludes to Hadrian's celebrated travels through the eastern provinces and his benefactions to the region of Phrygia. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the field, flanking the central group, with the legend distributed around the periphery.
