| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder as seen from the rear. The effigy displays Hadrian's characteristic curled hair and short beard rendered in finely modelled relief. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is executed in the Hadrianic classicising style, conveying imperial authority with idealised naturalism. |
