| Obverse description | Laureate bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, with bare chest and traces of drapery visible on the far shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the high-relief style characteristic of early Hadrianic coinage, conveying imperial gravitas and divine authority. The encircling legend, incuse in Latin, extends around the full periphery of the obverse field. The portrait reflects Hadrian's characteristic close-cropped beard, introduced by him as a new convention in Roman imperial portraiture. |

| Reverse description | The personification of Concordia (Harmony) is depicted seated left upon a high-backed throne, holding a patera in her right hand and resting her left arm upon a standing figure of Spes (Hope). A cornucopia is placed beneath the throne, symbolising abundance. The composition conveys the Hadrianic programme of civic harmony and hopeful transition following Trajan's reign. The reverse legend, arranged around the periphery and across the field, identifies the emperor's titles and the divine sanction of the senatorial decree (SC) in the exergual area. |
