The "LIBERALITAS AVG VI" reverse marks the sixth recorded cash donative Hadrian distributed to the Roman populace — an act as much administrative as political, logged with the precision of a public accountant. Hadrian staged at least seven such distributions across his reign, each formally numbered, which is itself unusual and reflects his characteristically methodical approach to governance.
The dating to 133–135 places this issue close to Hadrian's final years in Rome, after his return from the provinces. He died in 138, increasingly ill and politically isolated.
