| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, draped and laureate bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed laurel wreath and paludamentum visible at the truncation. The emperor's portrait exhibits the characteristic full beard and strong aquiline profile associated with Hadrianic coinage. The encircling legend is incuse around the periphery of the flan. The style reflects the accomplished die-cutting of the Rome mint workshop during Hadrian's later reign. |
