| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with the characteristic short beard rendered in finely modelled curls, the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The effigy is presented in high relief with strong three-dimensional modelling typical of Hadrianic portraiture. The encircling Latin legend runs along the border from left to right. The portrait displays the mature, bearded likeness that became a hallmark of Hadrian's official coinage after his accession. |
