| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with fine portraiture characteristic of the Hadrianic period, including the emperor's distinctive short beard. The effigy displays a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and segmented cuirass beneath, with the laureate wreath clearly visible atop the head. The surrounding field carries the imperial legend in raised Latin capitals along the beaded border. The portrait exhibits the high-relief, naturalistic modeling typical of Roman senatorial bronze coinage of the second century AD. |
