Reverse description A Roman war galley (navis longa) is depicted sailing to the right in the central field, rendered with considerable detail including banks of oars, a prominent prow ornament (aplustre), and a helmsman or figure visible at the stern. A large mast with rigging rises from the deck, and a steering oar is visible at the rear. The legend FELICITATI AVG appears in two lines in the upper field above the galley, with S and C flanking the vessel to left and right respectively, and COS III P P inscribed in the exergue below, all within a beaded border.
