| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with the emperor's characteristic short curly hair and full beard rendered in finely engraved detail. The bust is depicted from the rear or side, with drapery visible at the truncation. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the beaded border of the coin.
