Reverse description Hadrian stands facing right in military attire, extending his right hand in adlocutio gesture and holding a scroll in his left hand. Before him stand three soldiers in formation, each bearing a vexillum standard upright. The scene commemorates Hadrian's celebrated visits to the provincial armies and his personal inspections of frontier troops in Raetia. The exergue is plain, and the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the central composition in the field, with the legend EXERCITVS RAETICVS inscribed above.
