| Obverse description | Bare-headed, bearded bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, draped, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder, rendered in bold high relief characteristic of Hadrianic imperial portraiture. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive curly hair and full beard, a hallmark of his reign that established a lasting fashion among Roman emperors. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, framing the portrait.
