Reverse description The goddess Roma is depicted seated left on a cuirass, wearing a helmet and military attire, holding a small Victory figure in her extended right hand and a long spear or sceptre in her left hand, with a round shield resting behind her at lower left. The composition fills the field in a stately, classicising style characteristic of Hadrianic coinage from the Rome mint. The legend COS III appears in the field to the left and right of the figure, while the senatorial authorisation mark S C is placed prominently in the exergue below the seated figure. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
