| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic short curly hair and beard, viewed from the rear or side. The emperor's effigy is portrayed with refined naturalistic detail typical of Hadrianic portraiture, the paludamentum visible at the truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, distributed around the field. The flan displays the characteristic broad, slightly irregular planchet typical of Antonine-era sestertii. Patina of dark green bronze is visible across the surface. |
