| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing left, viewed from the rear, with the emperor's characteristic short beard and wavy hair rendered in fine detail. The portrait displays the mature, idealised physiognomy associated with Hadrianic court art, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend is distributed around the bust within a beaded border. The flan shows the characteristic irregular contour typical of hammered orichalcum sestertii of this period. |
