| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder, the portrait rendered with characteristic Hadrianic realism including the emperor's distinctive beard. The effigy is depicted in three-quarter view from the rear, a compositional type associated with the adventus series. The surrounding field shows the Latin circular legend, partially worn, with letters visible along the periphery. The flan exhibits the broad, flat fabric typical of Antonine-era sestertii struck at the Rome mint. |
